NW Wheel & Tire Website | 2024

NW Wheel & Tire began as a small mobile tire-changing truck in Bend, Oregon and with strict philosophy of providing a premium experience and high-quality customer service, they have grown significantly over the last decade to become a renowned wheel and tire shop around Central Oregon.
I built the original website in 2013, a time when WordPress had barely moved beyond a blogging platform. While that site did its job in that time, the technology and capability of WordPress has changed dramatically and it was overdue for an update.
One of the most important things in a website for growing small businesses is the ability for employees with little to no web development or design skills to update content without ever affecting the design or layout of the site. By utilizing current WordPress development tools, any piece of content that needs to be changed somewhat regularly can be done by an employee without ever touching the site layout or functionality.

Auidence-based, flexible layout
Being an auto-repair shop, the vast majority of visitors to the site are there to call or message about an appointment but NW Wheel & Tire also offers several other services that are not typically for most tire shops. It was important that users are made aware of these services when they visit the site so next time they are needing that, NWW&T is their first choice.
For visitors arriving on a mobile device, a phone link, and grid of the 6 core services is displayed for a very simple, quick, app-like experience. On the other hand, visitors on desktop computers are more likely to spend time browsing so a move visual experience is offered helps get people engaged and encourages further exploration. NWW&T customers are often car enthusiasts so we want to show that this shop is just as passionate about cars as they are.
